Hirose DF50/DF50A series wire-to-board connectors

HIROSE Electric Co. Ltd, a world-class leader in design and manufacture of innovative connector solutions, has developed the DF50/DF50A series of wire-to-board connectors for industrial applications.

DF50 series consists of single row and double row compact receptacles and headers that have been designed with space saving and durability, for applications needing more strength and reliability.

The low profile and robust connector is designed with surface mount contacts and a pitch of 1mm, which allows for maximum space saving on the board, reducing the mounting area needed.

In addition, the metal lock provides a consistent and positive tactile click with repetitive mating; this ensures the connector is fully engaged guaranteeing complete electrical and mechanical connection. The lock is located at the centre of the connector to avoid uneven locking and cable entanglement.

Single and double row versions are available in vertical and horizontal variations to give design flexibility.

The housings have been designed with thick and sturdy walls to prevent cracking. A long insertion depth and blade contacts are utilised to prevent damage against any wrenching forces. The receptacle features a robust and reliable lance structure which keeps the contacts securely in place even when high forces are applied to the cable. High contact reliability is achieved with gold plating with a long effective mating length.
The DF50 connector has a single-row configuration of 2-16 contacts and DF50A has a double-row configuration of 20-50 contacts.
