Description automatically generatedHIROSE Electric Co. Ltd, a world-class manufacturer of connectors, has introduced the U.FL series of coaxial connectors for small devices.
The U.FL has been designed with space-saving in mind. Its mated height is between 1.9 and 2.4 mm, providing flexibility for different miniature designs supporting up to 8 GHz.
A new version, U.FL(A) has been introduced which features a solderless connection type. This connector has expanded the frequency range to 18 GHz (V.S.W.R is less than or equal to 2) with a new crimping system called Coa-Fit. This series variation has improved workability with a user-friendly design allowing the cable to be inserted into the plug easily with minimal tooling.
The cable-mounted plugs use ultra-fine fluorinated resin-insulated cables to guarantee a secure and stable connection. Different cable diameters are available in single or double-ended cable lengths. The use of ultra-fine coaxial (fluorinated resin-insulated) cables on these connectors also allows for smooth, easy operation in small, confined spaces.
U.FL is available with applicable cables ranging from 30 – 32 AWG. The reel packaging allows for automatic pick-and-place mounting. The series includes a special tool that supports smooth insertion and removal.
Suitable applications include wireless LAN equipment (Wi-Fi 6 compatible), Bluetooth equipment, car navigation systems, drones, PDAs, GPS, wireless communication devices, electronic measuring instruments and many more applications.
