U.S. Summer internships
Summer internships are offered at our global corporate headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona where students participate in a 12-week program that follows a learning journey to round out their soft skills experience, while working on an impactful real-world business project. Our summer interns routinely extend their time with us after they return to school to finish their studies. And upon graduation, these students are highly considered for full-time employment opportunities.
Guadalajara Dual Study program
Are you ambitious? Do you strive to achieve a career? Avnet offers you an excellent opportunity to reach this goal with our Dual Study programs. Regardless of whether your goal is a business or technology career, every field of study features a balanced combination of vocational training, academic studies and practical experience.
Many aspects of the Dual Study program are unique, including the application process. Students do not apply at the university directly, instead they apply for a position at an Avnet company and are simultaneously accepted at the cooperating university once they have been selected. The company then becomes the location for practical training and the university is responsible for theory. The students get an employment contract, during which they receive a monthly salary and social benefits like any other employee.
In this integrated degree, three month-long study phases that take place at the university campus alternate with practical phases of the same length. Hardly any other training program offers you better perspectives for your career.

I found the Avnet internship experience was a good way to get a look at a large business and how it operates. You are given assignments and responsibilities, but at a slower pace than a full position so that enough time is given to learn while avoiding stress. The team I specifically joined wound up being a great fit. We had an overall project to work on the entire time, but also smaller tasks on the day to day, along with learning sessions with the group.

After spending a few years overseas post-college, I decided to switch careers and completed a UX Design online bootcamp. Following this, I was eager to get real-world experience in a company that leveraged current technology and develop my design skills. I had the opportunity to join Avnet through their internship program in 2023 as a UI/UX Digital Platform Developer Intern. This was exactly the atmosphere I was looking for. A supportive team in a fun environment where they give you the tools you need to succeed. After my internship, I joined full-time as the UX/UI Specialist at headquarters, and I can’t thank the internship program enough for helping me get here!

I have been with Avnet for 15 years now; I was hired right out of Michigan State University. I started as an intern, moved into an Sales Development Rep role, then moved to inside sales, then to field sales, then Transportation business development and now I have the privilege of leading the vertical. The best thing that happened to me in my career was doing inside sales and working out of corporate. I was able to network with the executives, learn how Avnet operates from the ground up and build a lot of relationships that I still have today.

I participated in the internship program in 2006. At that time, interns rotated through several different business units (such as product management, supply chain, materials and sales).
The internship provided me a glimpse into the scope and scale of Avnet, and more importantly guided me into a position in sales post-graduation. The ability to see the end to end process by rotating through various job functions was amazing. It helped me narrow in on what I wanted out of a career but also helped me understand how the different groups work together.
