Dipole Antennas

Dipole antennas consist of two symmetrical conductive poles or terminals into which the RF current flows. This current causes an electromagnetic signal to be radiated. RF current in dipoles is at its maximum at the centers of the dipole and at its minimum at ends of the element. The two terminals are separated by an insulator. A coaxial cable acts as feeder to both terminals which apply power to it from a transmitter, or take power from it to a receiver. Half wave dipole, folded dipole, short dipole, cage dipole, bow-tie, and Non-resonant dipole are some types of dipole antennas.
