Patch Antennas

Patch antennas (also called as Microstrip antennas) are narrowband, wide-beam antennas which consist of a flat rectangular patch of metal mounted on a large metal sheet. Patch antennas can be mounted on a flat surface. They are highly useful because they can be printed directly onto a circuit board. They are low cost, have a low profile, are lightweight and inexpensive, and electronics like LNA’s and SSPA’s can be integrated with these antennas quite easily and are easily fabricated.
