Logic Gates & Inverters
Logic gates are idealized or physical devices implementing a boolean function. They perform a logical operation on one or more binary inputs and produce a single binary output. Logic gates exist in the hundreds of millions in every modern computer, and form the building blocks for all of the operations performed by processors and memories. Inverters or NOT gates are logic gates which implement logical complements. Logic NOT Gates are the most basic of all the logical gates, and are sometimes referred to as Inverting Buffers or simply Inverters. They invert (complement) their input signal.
