Infrared - IR Components

Infrared radiation is a part of electromagnetic spectrum with longer wavelengths than those of visible light, along with radio waves, ultraviolet radiation, X-rays, and microwaves. Infrared (IR) light is the part of the EM spectrum that people encounter most in everyday life and is therefore invisible to the human eye, but people can feel it as heat. Electromagnetic radiation travels in waves. Components like Laser Diodes, Photodetectors, Photodiodes, Photo interrupters, and Phototransistors are the most commonly used IR devices.
