ABS05 Series Tuning Fork Crystals

Abracon’s ABS05 series is engineered to offer an option with an incredibly low load capacitance of just 4.0pF. This is made possible through the application of specialized process control techniques, and it serves as a pivotal role in creating oscillator circuits with minimal power consumption. These techniques not only ensure power efficiency but also maximize the precision of the resonant frequency when the crystal is integrated into real-time clock (RTC) systems and as part of the final transmit frequency.

In addition to its outstanding electrical characteristics, the ABS05 series boasts an ultra-compact form factor, measuring a mere 1.6 x 1.0mm and featuring a 4-pad surface mount device (SMD) footprint. Despite its diminutive size, these crystals exhibit a maximum Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR) of a mere 90 kΩ. The available frequency tolerances encompass ±30ppm, ±25ppm, and ±20ppm, with the option of ±10ppm available upon request. This makes the ABS05 series a well-suited choice for designs with stringent size constraints.

Abracon’s ASMPH Series inductors are exceptionally well-suited for space-constrained designs due to their compact size, high self-resonant frequency (SRF), and impressive efficiency. They are particularly advantageous for DC/DC conversion purposes. Moreover, these inductors exhibit robust construction and can operate within a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C, making them ideal for use in industrial applications. Crafted using low-loss ferrite material, they are capable of supporting high-speed switching frequencies, which are essential for power supply controllers in advanced miniaturized applications.

This family of power inductors provides a range of options in terms of footprint and inductance. The ASMPH-0603 footprint, measuring at 1.6×0.8×0.8mm, offers current ratings ranging from 1250mA to 300mA and inductance values spanning from 0.22µH to 2.2µH. For those requiring higher inductance values of up to 4.7µH, the ASMPH-0805 and ASMPH-1008 footprints are available, offering current-carrying capacities of up to 1500mA, thus enabling a wide array of DC/DC power supply applications.
