Vishay Automotive Solutions - a grade above the rest

Automotive systems include a wide range of functions and products. These include powertrains, chassis control, body electronics, passive safety systems, exterior lighting, 48 VDC boardnet, start / stop, micro hybrid vehicles, full hybrid vehicles (HEVs), and full electric vehicles (FEVs). All of these depend on types of electronic components manufactured by Vishay, including diodes and rectifiers, MOSFETs, optoelectronic, resistors, inductors, and capacitors.

Vishay has incorporated key automotive industry quality initiatives into an Automotive Grade product line. With the goal of zero defects, Vishay has implemented requirements covering design, qualification, and manufacturing, that are used to continuously improve products and processes. Products fulfilling the Vishay Automotive Grade requirements, described below, earn Automotive Grade stamp on their datasheets.

Rectifiers including eSMP® Packages

Vishay introduces eSMP®(enhanced surface mount power packages) diodes and rectifiers to their series. Their eSMP® package increases thermal performance while its smaller footprint reduces PCB space requirements and enables higher integration

Schottky Rectifiers including High-Current Density TMBS®Series

Vishay High-Current Density TMBS® eSMP® Rectifiers are ideal for automated placement and feature Trench MOS Schottky technology (TMBS®). These rectifiers are housed in a low-profile package with a typical height of 1.3mm. The rectifiers have a low forward voltage drop, low power losses, and high-efficiency operation. Vishay High-Current Density TMBS eSMP® Rectifiers are well-suited for use in low-voltage high-frequency DC/DC converters, freewheeling diodes, and polarity protection applications.

WFM Power Metal Plate™ Current Sense Resistors

Vishay WFM Power Metal Plate™ Current Sense Resistors offer up to a 0.5Ω resistance rating, 2010 and 2512 size packages, and a 0.5nH to 5nH inductance range. WFM Resistors are AEC-Q200 qualified and feature solid metal manganese copper and nickel-chromium-aluminum alloy construction. Vishay WFM Resistors are ideal for all types of current sensing and pulse applications, including switching and linear power supplies, instruments, power amplifiers, shunts, and power inverters.

Advantage: Boost in power density enables use of single resistor instead of multiple in parallel improving measurement accuracy and saving space.

T51 vPolyTan™ Polymer Surface-Mount Chip Capacitors

Vishay T51 vPolyTan™ Automotive-Grade Polymer SMD Chip Capacitors are AEC-Q200-qualified and provide high-temperature (-55°C to +125°C) and high-humidity operation. Vishay T51 vPolyTan Capacitors offer ultra-low Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR) in a 7343-31 EIA size molded case. These capacitors are designed for use in decoupling, smoothing, and filtering applications as well as automotive and switch-mode/point of load (PoL) power supplies.
