Diodes offers a number of products for the emerging USB Type-C® connector standard for ultra-mobile notebook / all-in-one PCs, tablet, and smartphones. They include high-performance crossbar switches, MUX switches, C switch and IC switch, USB 3.1 Gen2 / Gen1 and Display Port 1.4 / 1.2 ReDrivers & Repeaters.
Additionally, we offer USB power delivery or USB Type-C power delivery (USB PD or USB C PD) solutions, such as charger controller, charger detection, intelligent power switches, AC-DC and DC-DC converter solutions, transient voltage protection voltage protection and discrete MOSFETs.
USB PD Sink Controllers
The growing popularity of standard USB PD3.0 chargers for mobile phones and notebook PCs spurs demand to leverage standard PD3.0 chargers, replacing purposely and individually built chargers for battery power electronic devices and reducing E-Waste. Equipped with USB Type-C® connectors and enabled by USB PD3.0 sink controllers, these new classes of Type-C PD devices (TCD) easily obtain necessary power from any USB PD3.0 compliance chargers and adapters through a Type-C cable.
Extending our wide range of USB PD3.0 protocol controllers and charger solutions for energy sources, Diodes’ just released a new pair of USB PD3.0 sink controllers: the AP33771 and AP33772 (I2C). These new products address the need for ease of adoption as well as for fulfilling sophisticated and flexible system integration where a host MCU is available for various housing-keeping tasks.

USB Type-C & USB Power Delivery DFP Source Controllers
Diodes' portfolio of USB Type-C® & USB Power Delivery Source Controllers cover USB Type-C (15W), USB PD3.0 Programmable Power Supply (PPS), PD3.1 Standard Power Range (SPR), as well as quick charging applications for QC2.0, QC3.0, QC4/4+, QC5 Downstream-Facing Port Power (Source).
The DFP (Downstream-Facing Port) Source also provide advanced output capabilities such as PPS (3.3V~21V, 20mV/Step, 50mA/Step) and AVS (15V~28V, 100mV/Step). Our Dual-channel USB Type-C PD3.1 SPR/PPS/QC5 Protocol Decoders enable smart power sharing. Thermal management features are supported through the I2C interface and embedded MCU and firmware stored in On-Time-Programmable (OTP) memory.
