The competitively priced Family of scalable Renesas RA MCUs are powered by Arm® Cortex®-M33, -M23 and -M4 processor cores. These Platform Security Architecture (PSA) Certified™ MCUs deliver a superior combination of security, optimized power/performance, connectivity, peripheral IP and an easy-to-use Flexible Software Package (FSP) to accelerate the development and delivery of next-generation embedded solutions.

Leading-edge secure connectivity

The RA Family of MCUs delivers advanced security capabilities that include a Secure Crypto Engine (SCE) IP and an extra layer of embedded hardware security that enables tamper detection and resistance to side-channel attacks. Arm TrustZone provisioning employs a system-wide approach with hardware-enforced isolation built directly into the CPU. All RA MCUs supports standard encryption protocols including AES, RSA, ECC, DSA, TRNG and UID. Connectivity options include BLE, 802.15.4, LoRa, NB-IoT, UWB and Wi-Fi.

Excellent balance of power and performance

The RA Family are based on the powerful and energy efficient Arm® Cortex®-M core processors. The low power RA2 series delivers clock speeds up to 60Mhz while providing advanced low power operations that conserve energy. The RA4 and RA6 series deliver performance gains with balanced energy efficiency.

RA2 Series

  • Lowest power, performance – Arm Cortex M23 CPU up to 60MHz
  • Memory: 16kB to 256kB Flash with 16kb to 32kB RAM
  • Operating voltage: 1.6V-5.5V

RA4 Series

  • Power/performance balance – Arm Cortex M33 CPU up to 100MHz
  • Memory: 256kB to 1MB Flash with 128kB RAM
  • Operating voltage: 2.7V-3.6V

RA6 Series

  • Advanced, performance -
    Arm Cortex M33 CPU up to 200MHz
  • Memory: 512kB to 2MB Flash with 256kB to 512kB RAM
  • Operating voltage: 2.7V-3.6V

The RA Family of MCUs is PSA Certified Level 1 for IoT, enabling developers to improve safety and security in high-performing connected endpoint devices.
