The Avnet Vital Sensing Radar, which is designed to look like a bedside lamp, performs similar functions by detecting the vital signs, such as respiration rate, heartbeat rate and snoring, in front of the radar. With the benefits of mmWave radar, vital signals can be detected in a contactless and non-intrusive way, making it a perfect sensor for baby monitoring, sleep monitoring and elderly care.
Avnet Vital Sensing Radar Kit’s key components are the IFX BGT60TR13 and NXP MCU RT1050. The BGT60TR13C is a 60GHz radar sensor with an antenna which enables ultra-wide bandwidth FMCW operation in a small package, while the i.MX RT1050 offers high-performance processing optimised for lowest power consumption and best real-time response.
Final results are sent to the main controller ESP32 through the Uart interface. The ESP32 is a WIFI & BLE module that receives the data from NXP MCU and then sends it to Baidu Cloud via MQTT protocol.
