Today, more and more devices are shrinking or becoming wearable. As devices shrink, so do their components. Low-dropout regulators (LDO regulators) such as the NCP170 series and the NCP171 are perfect for regulating voltage in smaller devices. The NCP 170 series of CMOS LDO regulators are designed specifically for battery-powered applications which require ultra-low quiescent current. The NCP171 is a dual-mode LDO regulator offering up to 80mA in active mode and as low as 50nA of Iq in low power mode, allowing devices to become more efficient.
NCP170
The NCP170 series of CMPS low dropout regulators are designed specifically for portable battery-powered applications which require ultra-low quiescent current. This series ensures improved battery life and low power dissipation at full load. The small package sizes also make the NCP170 series suitable for application in devices with space constraints.

The NCP171 features a dual mode function that is selectable with the ECO pin, allowing for switching between active and low power modes. This system flexibility to switch between two distinct operating modes optimizes target application performance and extends its battery life, making it ideal for long life battery powered wireless applications. The NCP171 is also available in a small package size of 1.2x1.2 mm, allowing it to have a small footprint in target applications with space constraints.NCP171
