Security with proximity

Mixed Media - 202108S1

Heightened digital security is usually associated with stronger passwords or requiring more levels of authentication. More recently, proximity tags are becoming more associated with security as well. A user’s proximity to a device would identify them and enable an action that could be the unlocking of a computer or door. Proximity tags can also be used to adjust a setting to the user’s preference such as the position of their seat in a car or setting the ambient temperature in a room. Bluetooth Low Energy is the perfect interoperable standard for proximity use cases as it allows the user’s phone to be part of the use cases. With the powerful nRF52 Series SoC, proximity becomes a fairly simple implementation and is often an inclusive feature together with other applications that come together to form a product.

The nRF52832 is a general-purpose multiprotocol SoC. It meets the challenges of a broad range of applications that require advanced Bluetooth LE features, protocol concurrency as well as a rich and varied set of peripherals and features. In addition, it offers generous memory availability for both Flash and RAM
