SiC high power density 3.3KW bidirectional PFC

Introducing the offline bidirectional AC/DC evaluation board. A bridgeless totem-pole power factor corrector (PFC) for greater energy conversion efficiency, flexibility and endless applications. 

Operating at a highline of 85 - 265 AC voltage, nominal bulk voltage of 400V and max output power of 3.3kW. This totem pole provides steady state performance where total harmonic distortion <10% & power factor >0.95. It also offers robust behaviour in dynamic load and power line distrubances. 

A harmonious integration of Infineon's CoolSiC™ (silicon carbide) and CoolMOS™ Superjunction power MOSFETs as well as isolated drivers and a XMC™ microcontroller; this combination caters to applications that requires high efficiency (99% @ 50% load) and power density (~72 W/in³). The bidirectional power flow also allows this design to be used in battery chargers or battery formation applications to ensure efficient storage and conversion of electrical energy.
