Getting started with WCM
Before you get started with the tool there a couple of things you will want to do to get set up.
- The best browsers for using this tool are Firefox and Chrome. If you don’t have either installed please do so now.
- You can have more than one session of Portal open at the same time. In fact, for best use you should have three tabs open. You can also use 3 different browsers like Firefox, Chrome and Edge. Using different browsers allow you the option to review new content as a logged in user and as an anonymous person(somebody that has not logged in)
Log in to your first tab. Once logged in your screen should look like this:
Left click the Edit Mode button on the left hand side to put it in the ON position.
Click the drop down arrow next to Home and select your site from the drop down.
For your second tab you will follow all of the same steps above but after you select your speedboat, toggle the Edit Mode button into the OFF position..
You will use this secondary tab to preview your changes. Whenever you want to see the changes you made in edit mode on tab one, go to tab two and click the refresh button to see your changes.
Open the Site Manager. Once you have logged in you will see the application bar at the top of your page and the left side will look like this:
Click on the arrow button on the far left on the Application bar. This will slide out the Site toolbar and will look like this:
Look at the following buttons when you are here:
