Wireless connection

EBV’s Arduino demonstration system adds the Cypress Bluetooth Low Energy Pioneer Kit  (CY8CKIT-042-BLE) for the wireless communication to the panel from an iOS or Android mobile phone.

The Bluetooth Smart firmware stack and the application software to connect to the Infineon LED shield is running on a Cypress PSoC4 BLE Evaluation module and the Infineon XMC1202 controller on the Arduino shield is controlled via the I2C serial link.

 

 

The CySMART™ - Mobile App from Cypress is available for iPhone and Android and can connect directly to the shield board of the LED panel using Bluetooth Smart (BLE) with a range of up to 30m depending on the environmental conditions.
Once connected to the LED Service, the graphical interface provides a colour field for the RGB control and a slider for the brightness control of the Panel LEDs. For this Human Centric Lighting (HCL) application, the RED channel is mapped to the warm white and the BLUE channel is mapped to the cold white LEDs on the panel to control the colour temperature.
