Renesas RZ/G2L MPU Series

RZ/G2L and RZ/G2LC integrate the functions required for HMI equipment development in one chip and are the first in the RZ family to feature the Cortex-A55 core to meet the latest customer needs, including AI processing. In addition to improved performance, RZ/G2L can contribute to reduce the system BOM cost of customers by incorporating sub-MCUs for real-time processing and ADCs that used to be placed as external components. An evaluation board called EVK (Evaluation board kit) consists of a SOM that supports the SMARC form factor and a carrier board that can efficiently evaluate the functions of RZ/G2L and RZ/G2LC. By adopting the SMARC form factor for the evaluation board, customers can quickly set-up a prototype or POC (Proof of Concept) environment. In addition, the same form factor is applied to the RZ/G2UL and RZ/V2L, enabling seamless evaluation with the new products too.

Equipped with all the functions required for HMI device development, from video input to screen display, RZ/G2L is the top runner in the mass market of 64-bit MPUs that require more processing performance. In addition, for applications that require more advanced AI processing, it is possible to easily migrate to RZ/V2L, which has pin compatibility. It is possible to add the wonderful performance of DRP-AI, which is an AI accelerator, while diverting common software.
