Renesas DA14592

DA14592 - Low-power, BLE SoC with M33 + M0 ARM Cortex cores and BLE 5.4

Renesas DA14592 BLE SoC - front and back side

The DA14592 is a very low-power, BLE SoC offering M33 + M0 ARM Cortex cores supporting floating point application programming (M33) and Renesas-programmed, BLE 5.4 and capable of supporting other (proprietary), ISM band protocols. New for Renesas BLE, it includes embedded Flash and its memory (Flash/ROM/RAM) and functionality has been optimized to cost-efficiently support a broad range of BLE applications.

The DA14592MOD includes all external components required to implement a Bluetooth LE solution and is world-wide regulatory certified as well as Bluetooth SIG certified, offering customers fastest time-to-market and ultra-low Capex for their project. Emphasis has been placed in the design of this module to ensure maximum flexibility (suitability for design use) as well as simplified and cost-reduced development support. This is achieved by comprehensively routing the DA14592’s functions to the outside of the module and using castellated pins for easy/low-cost module attachment during development.

In the majority of Bluetooth applications power consumption is of paramount importance. The DA14592 draws on decades of design experience, particularly in radio and offers the market best-in-class power consumption. The architecture has similarity to our higher end, DA1469x family but with reduced content, it represents a lower cost option which customers may chose for mid-range applications, especially since the DA14592 and DA1469x share a common SDK.

The DA14592 represents Renesas’ competitive offering for the BLE, mid-range market. For many applications requiring low power consumption (eg Asset Tracking Tags, battery-powered Beacons, Locationing Tags and Data Loggers) the DA14592 offers a highly competitive option. It can also employ Renesas’ best-in-class AoA ‘locationing’ solutions. The DA14592 can also implement Renesas’ Apple FindMy and Android Finder reference designs for a cost competitive, rapid path to ‘lost items’ tags or integrated into existing products for Crowdsourcing based lost-item finding with ~6Bn phones around the world capable of reporting a lost item’s position.
