Automotive LiDAR based on SiTime Solution

This LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) reference design is a sensing technology that measures distance by emitting laser pulses and calculating the time it takes for the reflected light to return to the sensor. By scanning the environment both vertically and horizontally, LiDAR systems generate detailed 3D maps of the surroundings for applications like autonomous driving and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). A typical LiDAR system includes a laser source, a photodetector, and an analog front end (AFE) to condition the received signal. An analog-to-digital converter (ADC) then samples this signal for digital processing. After signal processing, the resulting data is transmitted to a domain controller or ADAS computer via a physical layer interface (PHY) for decision-making and control functions.
