The ST1VAFE6AX is a biosensor embedding a vAFE channel to detect biopotential signals and a 6-axis IMU featuring a high-performance 3-axis digital accelerometer and 3-axis digital gyroscope for motion tracking.
The ST1VAFE6AX embeds advanced dedicated features and data processing for motion processing like the finite state machine (FSM), sensor fusion low power (SFLP), adaptive self-configuration (ASC), and machine learning core (MLC) with exportable AI features/filters.
The ST1VAFE6AX is available in a small plastic, land grid array (LGA) package of 2.5 x 3.0 x 0.71 mm to address ultracompact solutions.

STEVAL-MKI242A - ST1VAFE6AX adapter kit for standard DIL24 socket with VAFE to measure biopotential signals from human body
The STEVAL-MKI242A is an adapter board designed to facilitate the evaluation of MEMS devices in the ST1VAFE6AX product family. The board offers an effective solution for fast system prototyping and device evaluation directly within the user’s own application.
The STEVAL-MKI242A can be plugged into a standard DIL24 socket. The adapter provides the complete ST1VAFE6AX pinout and comes ready-to-use with the required decoupling capacitors on the VDD and VDDIO power supply lines. To use STEVAL-MKI242A is mandatory to use an ECG cable with a 3.5 mm phone jack.
This adapter is supported and tested by the STEVAL-MKI109V3 motherboard, which includes a high performance 32-bit microcontroller functioning as a bridge between the sensor and a PC, on which it is possible to use the downloadable graphical user interface (GUI or MEMS-Studio), or dedicated software routines for customized applications.
It is possible to use STEVAL-MKBOXPRO or X-NUCLEO-IKS4A1 instead of STEVAL-MKI109V3.

STEVAL-MKI249KA - ST1VAFE6AX biosensor evaluation kit
The STEVAL-MKI249KA demonstration board is a kit made up of an ad hoc PCB, mounting the ST1VAFE6AX, a biosensor with vertical analog front-end (vAFE) for biopotential signals and 6-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) with AI and sensor fusion.
The kit is composed by the STEVAL-MKI249A board containing the complete ST1VAFE6AX pin-out and the required decoupling capacitors on the VDD and VDDIO power supply lines and the STEVAL-MKE005A electrode board.
It allows to show the functionalities of the biopotential device as for example the ECG signal.
The STEVAL-MKI249KA kit is compatible with the STEVAL-MKI109V3 and STEVAL-MKI109D mother boards, which include a high performance 32-bit microcontroller functioning as a bridge between the sensor and a PC, on which it is possible to use the downloadable graphical user interface (MEMS-Studio), or dedicated software routines for customized applications.
The kit can also be plugged in other boards like STEVAL-MKBOXPRO and X-NUCLEO-IKS4A1 boards.
