The DC fast (DCFC) charging market is thriving. If you are an application, product, or design engineer working in the power electronics field, you might be involved in the design of novel DC fast charging systems.
Fundamental questions might arise here, especially if it is the first time you are facing such a challenge. How and where should you begin, what are critical design considerations, and how should you address them.
Our system expert will guide you and highlight the key challenges, trade-offs, and compromises made, and show how to design, build and validate such a system from scratch using our 25kW SiC module based DC fast charging system reference design.
In this webinar series, we will provide holistic views of the DC fast charging system designs focusing on specific topics.
Agenda:
<June 1> Session 1: 6-Pack Boost Active Front End (AFE) Design
The first session will cover overall 25kW EV DC charging reference design objectives. We will focus on AC-DC three phase PFC stage, followed by topology and component selection. We will also show and comment on the simulation to pre-tune the power stage.
<June 8> Session 2: Dual Active Bridge DC-DC Design
The second session will cover the second stage of the fast DC EV charger reference design. We will follow the same structure as the first session with topology discussion, components selection, and simulations details.
<June 15> Session 3: Gate Drivers, Auxiliary Supply, and Thermal Management
The third session will cover the “surroundings” of the two power stages covered in Session 1 and 2, showing the selection and implementation of gate drivers. We need a housekeeping (or auxiliary) supply to feed these drivers and the other functions on the boards—the session presents the chosen solution. Finally, we will introduce the thermal management solution.
<July 27> Session 4: Measurement Results
The final session will focus on measurement and results from laboratory testing for both power stages: the Active Front End (AFE) and the Dual Active Bridge (DAB). We will illustrate and explain the waveforms and graphics synthesis.
